 Pattambi Nercha is a festival held in the memory of Alur Valiya Pookunjikoya. As there was no significant celebration in previous years, Pattambi was overflowing with people hoping for a good celebration this time around. People did not have the intellect to walk as there was traffic control. The 'vow arrival' that all the celebration committee members agree on may have been delayed due to the heat this time around.

It started at six o'clock. Above the road and on top of the buildings, people, including women and children, lined up in anticipation of the vow coming from Pattambi. The whole city is active in lights and colors with countless colors. The elephants are lined up in a procession accompanied by traditional bands. This time there was no procession of elephants ending the evening on the banks of the Bharathapuzha.
